Dear Parents, Relatives, and Friends:

We are already into the fourth week of our Fall quarter! Our incoming class has settled in and classes are going great. Fall is beginning to arrive in the valley and soon we should have beautiful colors on the trees.

The men moved into their new dorm at the start of the fall quarter. It is a beautiful spot with a great view. The lounge and laundry facility are still in progress. Ron is also in the process of building a new road to the dorm with easier access for the vehicles. You can see pictures on the Meredith Manor Facebook page.

We had great attendance at the end of quarter Awards Assembly and Showmasters horse show. Pictures of those events are also posted on the Meredith Manor Facebook page and on our website at www.meredithmanor.edu.

We welcomed two new staff members this quarter. Kristen Hoover is a 1998 MM graduate and has a Bachelors degree in education. She has 13 years experience teaching and training western, dressage and jumping and is the owner of Kristen Hoover Equestrian Services. Kristen will be in the Teaching Dept and teaching riding classes. Claudia Boyle is a 2011 graduate of MM. She has Bachelors and Masters degrees and taught at Arizona State University. Claudia will be teaching riding and training classes. We are excited to welcome them to our staff

Congratulations to Melinda Barnes, the first recipient of the Chad Hoover Memorial Award. She was presented with farrier tools and equipment at the Summer 2011 Awards Banquet. The recipients of this award will receive farrier tools and equipment to help with the startup of their farrier business. Initially, this will consist of tools that Chad used in his business that were donated to Meredith Manor by his parents. Their wish is for future students who exemplify Chad’s work ethic to have the opportunity to be as successful as he was. Moving forward, Meredith manor will host a farrier clinic each fall to fund the award. The first clinic will be held November 18th and 19th.

Until next time!
