Karen McNamer

Karen McNamer at Meredith Manor, an Equine College

Hi, I'm Karen McNamer from Monticello, Illinois. I am 35 years old, I have two children and three horses. When I was 32, I decided on a career change. I've always loved horses and wanted a job where I could be at home and be able to work around the children's schedules. I decided to employ the horses I already have and, with some education, give riding lessons for my source of income. So, with lots of support, my crew and I went off to school.

So here I am at Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre, a full time student. I will be graduating in May with a Riding Master VI, Training VI, and Teaching VI. I've also taken extra classes in Business Management and Breeding Management. To date I have received my Teaching Certificate, three Perfect Attendance Awards, three President's Awards, and three Honor Roll Awards.

When I graduate, I plan on opening my riding facility in Monticello, Illinois, so if you are in the area or passing through, look me up. I'll be in the phone book come June, 1998.

Meredith Manor is what every trainer in this country should be REQUIRED to attend. There is not one program that will better prepare you for a career in the industry. I have been all over the world and back riding horses and I would not have made it through 90% of it if I had not completed the entire Riding Master VI.
