Level Two Leather Working Certification

Level One: Requirements for the Level One Leather Working Certification:

  • Completion of Leather Working I & II with a minimum 3.0 GPA and no more than 7 absences in any quarter of Leather Working
  • Satisfactory completion of a written examination with a minimum grade of a B
  • Satisfactory completion of the following projects in class with a minimum grade of a B:
    • Lead Strap
    • Halter
    • English Bridle
    • Western Bridle
    • Breast Collar
    • Western Reins
    • English Reins
    • Cinches-Belly and Bellybands
Upon completion of these requirements, the student will receive Level One Leather Working Certification.

Level Two: Requirements for the Level Two Leather Working Certification:

  • Meet all requirements for the Level One Leather Working Certification
  • Completion of Leather Working III - V with a minimum 3.0 GPA and no more than 7 absences in any quarter of Leather Working
  • Satisfactory completion of a written examination with a minimum grade of a B
  • Satisfactory completion of the following projects in class with a minimum grade of a B:
    • English
      • Replace Billets
      • Reflock Saddle
    • Western
      • Cover Stirrups
      • Cover a Fork
      • Cover a Horn
      • Replace Fleece
      • Replace Seat
      • Repair Tree
Upon completion of these requirements, the student will receive Level Two Leather Working Certification.
